Greetings from Dana

We just touched down in Brussels..it's around 4am New York time, 10am local time. Our first flight was delayed, as to be expected...the plane food which is usually my favorite was cold, and the woman sitting next to me wasn't very friendly. I am optimistic about our flight to kigali, and excited for our arrival. I cannot wait to meet all the students. I am feeling very anxious to be there already, so I have ample time to spend with each student. I am a quite delerious right now, so I'll write back again once we arrive at the village and I have some real "dana stories" to share.
With love, from Brussels- Dana xx
From Rick

Getting closer another 8 hour flight and 1 hour car ride and we are there.

From Joseph St. Hilaire:My trip to Rwanda

We are sitting here at JFK getting ready to board our flight to Brussels where we will catch our flight to Rwanda. It was exciting to see that all the gears we took with us made it through. I am looking forward to the landing in Rwanda and build that Active Directory infrastructure for centalized authentication. I will keep you all posted on the progress.

From Zoe: Lesson 1

Don't sit next to Dana on a plane if she's been drinking.

After 20 minutes of drunken plane ride stories we are now sitting in the airport wine bar preparing ourselves for the long flights.

Everyone is in good spirits. I'm excited and apprehensive for the week's adventure. Having the patience for the long flight seems like it may be the hardest part of the whole trip.

I can't wait to get there and take it all in.

From Eddie: Wine at the airport?

All 14 bags have been checked, all 7 of us made it through security. Since the bar was a little packed, we found a wine bar to settle into for an hour before boarding.

I can sense that all of us are both nervous and excited for upcoming experience.

More later from Brussels, where we have a layover.

From Rick

On the ride to the airport, conversations ranged from reality tv concepts, to travel stories, to why the F are we taking local rodes to the airport. Keep in mind Brian and Dana are predominantly controlling the conversation.

From Brian: Latest "Village People" heading to Rwanda

Our dream team of seven Liquidnet employees (Dana, Eddie, Joe, Rick, Rob, Zoe and me) are on our way to JFK to then head to Rwanda in order to volunteer at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village.  We'll be working on a variety of IT, accounting, health & wellness, and photography projects.

Check back here for updates and be sure to leave us comments!
